ESIEA Graduate Engineering School

Introduction

ESIEA is a French graduate engineering school and research centre. It has campuses in Paris and Laval (France). Its programmes focus on Digital Sciences and Technologies.

The school aims at training experts for the future of technology. Its alumni are ready to understand and work on complex systems, design and build new ones and think of new uses and how to market them.

ESIEA trains IT engineers specializing in Information Systems and Embedded Systems.

Technology is everywhere. ESIEA lets its students explore the many opportunities it offers, plan your career for their future, and make it come true.

Join an engineering school where students are considered young, multi-skilled and creative professional!
ESIEA helps its students uncover their own skills and develop to their full potiential.

AT ESIEA, students learn by doing things themselves. Every year comes with many opportunities to develop new projects, work in teams and develop fully operational solutions for real-life businesses.

Come and join a community with a common dream and goal of leading innovation.

IT security, virtual reality, embedded systems, information systems, virtualization and cloud computing, banking information systems, big data, connected objects, mobile applications... Help the world be a better place through technology and science.

Key expertise areas: IT applied to security and virtual reality

ESIEA’s expertise in the field of IT security has gained recognition thanks to its “Operational Cryptology and Virology” (CVO) research lab and its special programmes (Mastère) in Information and Systems Security ( delivered in English and French). ESIEA's research labs carry out ground-breaking research in the fields of disability rehabilitation and autonomy recovery assistance through the interactions of a range of technological competence areas: virtual and augmented reality, robotics, communicating objects, embedded systems, etc.

How can scientific research benefit students?
It encourages innovative behaviours and let students enjoy the latest knowledge in a variety of specific fields. Students can work with researchers on scientific and technological projects or under the “Promoting Research and Innovation” programme from year 1. When applied to practical problem solving, research participation can represent a real added-value for future employers in a resume. ESIEA is affiliated with two doctoral schools and its university partnerships allow ESIEA graduates to study for PhDs in France or abroad.

A school at the heart of the digital ecosystem

ESIEA partners with leading businesses in the IT ecosystem (CGI, Atos, Sopra Steria, Capgemini…)
The school is also a member of the French Tech and the Cap Digital and Images & Réseaux competitivity circles.

It participates in various entrepreneurship development initiatives: Laval Mayenne Technopole, Ivry Urban Campus and Numa, the focal point for Paris start-ups.

It is one of the founding members of the Laval Virtual and Silver Valley, an innovative business development network in the Paris area.

Studying at ESIEA directly in year 3:
The 3rd year at ESIEA puts “Practice” first. It focuses on practical and lab work, with few formal lectures.

Students carry out 4 projects along the year (scientific, technical and personal development).

Specializing In A Field in year 4:
In year 4, all students pick a specialisation: Information Systems or Embedded Systems.
During the year, they are asked to develop innovative project for a real-life company or research lab.
At the end of the year, all students go for an internship (4 to 5 months)

Shaping a precise career in year 5:
In year 5, ESIEA-trained future engineers choose one major as well as a technical minor and a management minor to increase their expertise in the field in which they intend to start out.
ESIEA offers 8 majors and 15 minors. The possibilities are endless.

Alumni & businesses work hand in hand with ESIEA

Alumni take an active part in coaching students, sponsoring internships, selecting applicants, supervising projects or even teaching…
ESIEA also has over 500 partner companies. More and more professionals are joining the teaching staff and enjoy many opportunities to meet students: Industry forum, Job dating, 1st and 2nd year engineering projects suggested by companies.
